I was born with 3 gifts: a very good body that still serves me beautifully at age 85; I was born with conscious contact with a Higher Power; I knew from my earliest memories – before I went to school, that I was/am an artist. But when I was a pre-schooler, I also thought I was/am a priest. My Irish Catholic family would correct me, saying: “Oh, don’t you mean a ‘nun’? I would insist: ‘NO! A priest! I AM an artist, and I AM in constant contact either with higher powers, and I am a PhD Social Psychologist! It was not until I was doing research on cave paintings and shamanism did I realize that I was born to both the traditions of shamanism and the traditions of women warriors while writing my dissertation in Japan. I was given those gifts at birth because the rest of my life was going to be terribly hard and painful.
