number 510 I think it’s about the boundaries that surround us and how our response to those boundaries shape us a people; those boundaries can be cultural, mental, physical, implicit or explicit. Do we observe them, subvert, hide within, question, accept, remain oblivious or openly defy or just not see them. It’s what my art is also about!

number 508 What makes me/me? Well I’m like a big ball made of melancholic, artistic, political anger and frustration. And I’m trying to navigate this big ball of strangeness through this weird and trying life!!

number 507 After completion of their technological training the PANDAVAs and KAURAVAs were asked by their teacher DHRONACHARYA to aim and shoot a bird which was set by him as their target on a tree top. While the people were targeting DHRONACHARYA asked one by one what they are noticing….all, except ARJUNA answered that they are noticing the tree…leaves…flowers and the bird…only ARJUNA told he is noticing only the birds eye….(This is from MAHABHARATA…)…THIS SHEER ABILITY OF OBSERVING MADE ME WHAT I AM.

number 506 Trying to live in both simplicity and love. As a “wounded healer” to continue to be grateful for what is, and pay it forward. To be open to the questions, recognizing it is the journey that is important, and that we are more alike than different. (Maya Angelou). Grateful for all who have come into my life and those I may never know, however, continue to feed us with their own legacies and wisdom. Better to light a candle than curse the darkness. One day, one step, one breath at a time. Namaste.

number 499 Born in a bombing raid and surviving against the odds, my aim was to bring cheer to my family. Bestowed with a talent to paint I became an artist, mostly enjoying portraits. Between commissions I am working on a series called ‘feisty women’. I have been described as having emotional intelligence.

number 487 Being the son of Irish parents born in England, being told I’ll amount to nothing at the same time being told I must fight for everything believing in something that isn’t tangible but giving your life to it, which in turn gives you the tools to start something that you do not know where it will take you but you just believe in it so much it will survive when you have gone x my paintings and my children x life is brutal and brilliant in many ways xx

number 484 Thank you Sally for asking the question as to what it is that constitutes being me … being me is an ever evolving process and therefore a state of being with ever amorphous edges of all kinds … and yet , I can definitively state as I am in the present and also look back over my life, that the most important variable to me , in the equation that is me (to date) , is that I paint… I say that painting is my first language and English is my second … I have been painting seriously since I was eleven years old … I now paint fracturing states of divergent realities caught in the process of coalescing into a greater reality or coalescing to enter over a threshold of transcendence or liminal type space (The word liminal comes from the Latin word limen, meaning threshold – any point or place of entering or beginning.) … It could be said that I try to paint points of epiphany …
