number 181 I have always struggled to understand God, and often wonder whether I really have any faith at all, or whether the Object of my faith is even real. Yet I have realized recently that I cannot conceive of myself except in relation to this Other – real or not – this struggle to know what is beyond me. The knowledge that I cannot be any other than this, that endless searching shapes me and is essential to who I am – this brings its own kind of restless peace.

number 171 All that’s gone before, I was born complicated! I believe its not how many times you get knocked down, but how many times you get up! I love seeing all the art on the internet, but I not I’m not particularly talented! I think that it would be a picture with a lot of swirls & movement colors that are medium to light! It could have hard work, love & Fun involved. One of the most important things in life is foolishness!

number 168 A failure to listen to compliments coupled with a homeless arrogance. Waking up scared and staying up late anxious. Repeated isolation, testing and self-imposed facsimiles of childhood entrapment. A strong imagination, constant syncopated conjunctions in fact, sometimes too many sensory connections and a bad life grammar.

number 164 My nature is honed by Nature – the Natural World, the need to get out in it, walk in it, observe it, work from it, grow stuff in it, get it under my fingernails, listen to it. I’d be completely unhinged without my garden, this keeps me smiling.

number 153 DNA from my ancestors, with my own questioning, curious, unique character, shaped by experiences and influences past and present – as Suzanne Cleminshaw says on page 88 of her novel ‘The Great Ideas’ – “mirrors are full of everyone who ever looked in them”…………(I used to ask my mother unanswerable questions like ” If I hadn’t been ‘me’ would I have been someone else?” Meaning, would I still be the same soul in another body, or just not exist at all…she was never able to answer this.)
