What makes me me must best be answered from a 3rd person cuz the real me is only a temporary creature here for a moment, trying to filter the light and pass it onto the darker areas and bring light there ……. Maybe what makes me me is the Ego and its transcendence, and an unbelievable connection with childhood, its terrors and its innocence.. I hope this makes sense…..

Well, what made me the person I am and how I view life, was born out of a fraught, sad, frustrating and weird childhood. I had to grow up quick, so I could get to grips with what was happening in my life and try to make sense of it all. My Dad is a bipolar schizophrenic, when he was on a high he would revert back to and relive his army and police days, and I would be brought into this bizarre fantasy world as his comrade! He used to get sectioned about 3 to 4 times a year. As a result of this my Mum became agoraphobic, and it fell to me to do a lot of stuff kids shouldn’t have to do. But despite all of this distress my parents were always caring and I was never in any danger. And on top of all this I had undiagnosed dyslexia and dyscalculia so my school years were hell and I dropped out of the educational system unnoticed at 15. And probably, unsurprisingly I’ve been fighting clinical depression since I was about 13.

So what I’ve learnt in life and what makes me who I am, is that life can suck, big time, but you can’t blame and point fingers you have to be able to understand. So that’s why I am extremely empathic and considerate to others, learn to understand and not to just judge. That’s what makes me, me!

I hope this is what you wanted to know. Sorry if this answer is little long winded, but I thought it necessary!

What makes me Me would take days of constant talking to explain. I’m a conflicted person at battle with my nostalgia. (I aspire to be as astute as Hunter S. Thompson, with the magnanimity to not fear failure but embrace it.) I’m constantly in turmoil because I forget about me and spend all my time thinking of others. I kill things for a living then have to negate or equalise that negativity with something creative like a carving or nurturing a row of cabbages. I’m a sensitive altruist, who bears a heavy burden. You know you must be mad when you can hold a long silent conversation between two conflicting characters in your head. I have been denied a family on several occasions. Tragedies.

A free spirit. Always seeking the meaning of life. An old soul who represents her zodiac sign of the two fishes, swimming in opposite directions. Life – a small particle of a bigger thing. What is it, I don’t know but we are all part of a higher self. Inspired, creative, imaginative and forever hopeful.

The women I have loved and longed for and mostly lost! One notable exception! Gate, Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate, Bodhi Svaha! All the rest, all heartbreak (I love them still!) confusing! All my four-legged friends, those going ‘ARF!’ or ‘MEOW!’ Yet, I am full of the narrative of ‘me’! Despite that hindrance, I am sociable, loyal, loving, lonely & lost.
